Work History |

- 1967-1971. College professor at Saint Leo College in Dade City, FL,. Served as President of the faculty for two years, as well as on the Tenure and Curriculum Committees for three years.
- 1971-1976. Director of the Saint Joseph Educational Center in Des Moines, IA. The Saint Joseph Educational Center was a unique and innovative institution dedicated to finding ways to educate parents, using adult learning theory techniques to educate their children and, therefore, lessen the need for third party instructors like nuns and priests. The goal was to return accountability and responsibility for the education of children and youth to the parents by helping the parents become more knowledgeable and more skilled. The Center gained national prominence and won an award from the National Catholic Education Association for innovation and creativity.
- 1971-1976. Advisor/consultant to the Bishop of Des Moines on: strategic planning, marketing, education of Clergy, deployment of human resources, organization, education and policy changes.
- 1976-1981. Batten, Batten, Hudson & Swab, a management consulting company based in Des Moines, IA,. This firm served mainly Fortune 1,000 companies.
- Served as a general consultant for the first
two years and then became the Vice President of the Education Division
and was responsible for developing and staffing approximately 3,200
client days each year. Generated about $15,000,000 in revenue with a 40%
pre-tax profit margin in 1978 dollars. Lead a team of 35 consultants and
22 support staff.
- Successfully opened their Houston, TX office. Then returned to Des Moines to
serve as Vice President of Marketing.
- Responsible for marketing the company. In that capacity 15,000,000 brochures
were mailed annually. Managed a staff of 18 and a budget of $5,000,000.
- 1997-2000. A franchisee of Sport Clips, Inc.
- 1993-1994. A franchisee of J.D. Byrider, Inc. The investment group sold their interest after two years.
- Currently in a LLP that is the franchisee of three Texaco Star Marts with full Church's restaurants inside each Star Mart.
- Currently a financial investor and a franchisee of one Logan Farms Honey Glazed Hams and Deli.
- Currently a financial investor and franchisee of three Two Men and A Truck franchises.

Management 2000

- 1981-Current. Founded Management 2000, in Houston, TX. Have been President of the company since its founding. Management 2000 had an office in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Management 2000 has been specializing in the use of franchising as a business strategy since 1984. Management 2000 has worked with over 850 established franchisers and with over twenty start-up franchise companies.
- Our expertise lies in the development of and being advisors to the development of systems, writing operations manuals, designing training programs (participant manuals and Leader's Guide), training people, strategic planning, optimizing market presence, the granting of License Agreements, organizational development, organizational effectiveness, franchiser/franchisee relations.
- Management 2000 has been an officially designated training company for the International Franchise Association and currently offers seminars that are endorsed by the IFA.
- Management 2000 is also the officially designated training company for the Canadian Franchise Association and currently offers seminars that are endorsed by the CFA.
- Served as the Director of Education for the International Franchise Association. Also am a member of the Education Committee of that association and in that capacity assist in the planning of their annual Convention and Marketing Conference.
- Served on the committee that created the certification program for franchise executives called "The Certified Franchised Executive" of CFE.
